  • Author: lina
  • Total Time: 30 minutes

Description

These Fizzy Kool-Aid Lollipops are a fun, sweet treat that both kids and adults will love. Combining the fruity flavors of Kool-Aid with a fizzy sensation from baking soda, these lollipops make a perfect snack for any occasion. With simple ingredients and easy-to-follow steps, you can create a batch of vibrant, flavorful lollipops in no time!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup (or honey for a natural alternative)
1/4 cup water
1 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid (any flavor)
1/4 tsp baking soda (for the fizz)
Lollipop sticks
Candy molds or parchment paper

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Once the mixture starts boiling, stop stirring and let it reach 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully stir in the Kool-Aid packet and baking soda. The mixture will bubble up, so be cautious.
  4. Quickly pour the hot candy mixture into lollipop molds or drop small circles onto parchment paper.
  5. Insert lollipop sticks into each mold or circle, twisting them slightly to coat the sticks with candy.
  6. Allow the lollipops to cool completely at room temperature. As they harden, the baking soda will create a subtle fizzy texture.
  7. Once fully hardened, pop the lollipops out of the molds or peel them off the parchment paper. Wrap them in cellophane or enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Use a candy thermometer for the best results to ensure the right hard crack stage.
  • You can substitute corn syrup with honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar, though it may slightly affect the texture.
  • Store lollipops in an airtight container for up to a week, or wrap them in cellophane to gift them.
  • Experiment with different Kool-Aid flavors to create a variety of colorful lollipops.
