- 1 porterhouse steak, 1 1/2 inches thick
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to high heat.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the bourbon and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to cook off the alcohol. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Season the porterhouse steak on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Brush the olive oil on both sides of the steak.
- Place the steak on the hot grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if desired.
- While the steak is cooking, brush the bourbon butter mixture on top of the steak during the last few minutes of grilling.
- Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
