Ingredients
2 cups white granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
Crushed hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers)
Green grapes
Pink food coloring (optional)
Cotton candy flavoring (optional)
Directions:
1. First, ensure the grapes are clean and completely dried. Skewer each grape with a bamboo stick to make handling easier.
2. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Enhance the mixture with a few drops of pink food coloring and a dash of cotton candy flavoring for that fun twist.
3. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring until all the sugar is dissolved.
4. Insert a candy thermometer and increase the heat to medium-high to bring the mixture to a boil.
5. Allow the mixture to cook undisturbed until it reaches a temperature of 300°F (hard-crack stage), which should take around 15-20 minutes.
6. Once the candy reaches the desired temperature, quickly dip each skewer with a grape into the candy mixture, ensuring a complete coating.
7. Immediately roll the coated grapes in the crushed hard candies for added texture and flavor.
8. Transfer the coated grapes onto a silicone baking mat, allowing them to cool and harden without sticking.
