White Sparkle Candy Apples

Ingredients:

6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon white gel food coloring
Edible glitter or sanding sugar
6 wooden sticks or skewers

Directions:

1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Insert wooden sticks into the top of each apple.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
3. Attach a candy thermometer to the saucepan. Continue cooking the sugar mixture without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
4. Remove from heat and stir in the white gel food coloring.
5. Carefully dip each apple into the sugar mixture, coating it completely. Allow the excess to drip off.
6. Immediately sprinkle edible glitter or sanding sugar over the apples for a sparkling finish.
7. Place the coated apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden.
